Design AND Build

First, the smartphone does not have any notch design of any kind. But rather it comes with a pop-up design where the front camera is placed. This is not the first time we are seeing such design, as we’ve seen similar design already in Xiaomi Mi 9T (Redmi K20).

While on its back, we have the noticeable tri-lens camera. The 16MP main shooter, 8MP ultra-wide angle lens and a 2MP depth sensor. There is also a rear mounted fingerprint at the top back of the phone. But sadly, the phone is not water proof. So you may want to be careful around water.

Display

Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 has a big screen of 6.59″-inch IPS LCD touchscreen display with a FHD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. The display doesn’t have any notch design as mentioned earlier. Thus, you have the full screen display for yourself and this takes the aspect ratio to 19.5.9 and the screen-to-body ratio to 85%.

However, one major weakness of the smartphone is the lack of an Amoled panel. The likes of Tecno Phantom 9, Infinix Note 6 and Samsung Galaxy A70, all featured an amoled panel. OLED panel displays an accurate colors including deep blacks that are great for watching movies of which the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 lacks.
